Design work for an authentic dish discovery service startup

Dishroots is a service that helps foodies discover authentic ethnic food and the cultural stories behind them. Dishroots was a startup based in Los Angeles that I worked remotely for between 2017 and 2019. I worked as their Design Lead, and designed their logo, iOS App, website and their meal provider admin portal.

Logo Design

I designed the logo below to feel fresh, and represent a range of authentic food types. The font selection provides a more authentic feel with the organic brush stroke lettering.

Web Design

The website for Dishroots would provide an interface for foodies to find and conversate on local, authentic dishes. Stories would highlight new and featured dishes, and the conversations view (later named Buzz) would encourage users to review and comment on dishes, as well as request new stories/dishes to be featured. The design process involved developing a site hierarchy, user interviews, wireframing, prototyping and visual comps. The site was eventually built out using wix at dishroots.com. Unfortunately the site no longer is up and running.

Admin Portal for Dish Providers

The founders of dishroots needed a way for dish providers to populate dishroots.com and the planned iOS app. It was agreed that a web portal would be designed and developed to serve this purpose. Below you can see the visual comps I designed for the proposed backend admin portal.

The following projects are older and don't necessarily showcase my current skills as a designer. However I think it's interesting to see my progress, so I keep them around.
